Hello world, hello small web
I was inspired to make this blog by coming across an increasing number of personal blogs, when I have been searching for answers to technical questions. This is mainly due to me switching from Google to Duckduckgo and then to Kagi, which is a paid search engine. Kagi also started a 'small web' initiative to try and formalise the surfacing of personal blogs and non-corporate websites.
This kind of internet might be part of what people refer to as the open web. There is a so much of me that was formed on access to an internet which was full of personal blogs, niche forums on topics and web experiments. I want to do something to resist the decline of the open web and the suffocation of internet users by large corporate entities.
This blog is my attempt to keep a note of resources and document processes for future reference. I might also try writing as a way to work out some answers to other workflow, work, life and internet questions I have for myself. My website is really just a work thing... but being freelance I do find that my work thing is my life thing.
I did also submit this blog to the Kagi small web project and i'm happy to be listed. I hope someone finds something I write useful to their own practice.
